Delete Your Account

You can delete your ChefExtract account at any time. This page explains how to request deletion and what happens to your data.

How to Delete Your Account

iOS & Android (in-app)

  1. Open ChefExtract and sign in to your account.
  2. Tap the profile icon in the top-right corner of any screen.
  3. Tap "Manage Account".
  4. Tap "Delete Account" at the bottom of the screen.
  5. Confirm the deletion when prompted.

Account deletion via the app is immediate.

By email

  1. Send an email to support@chefextract.com with the subject line “Account Deletion Request”.
  2. Include the email address associated with your account.
  3. We will process your request within 30 days and confirm by email.

Use the email method if you no longer have access to the app or your account.

What Data Is Deleted

When your account is deleted, the following data is permanently removed:

  • Your account credentials and profile information
  • All saved recipes and associated thumbnail images
  • Your shopping list
  • Your subscription association (entitlement link to your account)
  • Your in-app preferences (language, unit system, custom categories)

What Data Is Retained

The following data may be retained after account deletion:

  • Subscription billing records— retained by Apple (iOS) or Google (Android) according to their own policies. ChefExtract does not store your payment information.
  • Anonymised web analytics— aggregate, non-identifiable usage data collected via Google Analytics is retained for up to 14 months per Google’s default retention settings.
  • Server logs— standard infrastructure logs may be retained for up to 90 days for security and debugging purposes.

Deletion of your account does not cancel an active subscription. To avoid future charges, cancel your subscription before deleting your account:

  • iOS:Settings › [Your Name] › Subscriptions › ChefExtract Pro › Cancel Subscription
  • Android:Google Play › Subscriptions › ChefExtract Pro › Cancel Subscription
